The ordinary days you'll want to remember most.

A family session is a more intimate setting than a wedding, and a more sensitive one. At home or in nature works best: it gives you one less thing to worry about, and a familiar place immediately puts you at ease.
I rarely do heavily posed images and prefer environmental portraits. They should capture memories, not be too staged. A session usually runs 90 minutes, but that isn’t all photography. It includes breaks for the baby, getting to know the environment and connecting. I respect your time and your baby’s needs, and work with trust and sensitivity.
My first maternity shoot was a very short-notice request from a very special person: my sister.

Questions families ask
5 questions
When should we book a newborn session?
Whenever you feel up for it and confident. I have photographed babies at 5 days old and at 5 months or older. Age is no factor; it just depends on what kind of photos you want.
What if the baby needs feeding or a nap?
Time is not a factor. We plan enough time that a break for the baby or for you is not an issue. Forcing a shot or a moment never works.
Our toddler won't cooperate. What then?
"Won't cooperate" usually means we are asking something of them they don't want to do. I look at what that is, why it's causing friction, and whether there is a different way to get the shot.
Why not in a studio?
A studio can feel clinical and inauthentic. At home or in nature, you're in a familiar environment, and that immediately puts you at ease.
Can we book again later?
That is all up to you. Working together again benefits everyone, as we already have a strong foundation and understanding.
